http://shop.lego.com/ByTheme/Product.aspx?p=10179&cn=416&d=322

almost tempted...
should be doing my tune in June (yay rhymes!) ... but thats a serious thing to think about for me...

I mean... honestly... who else is really going to be able to say... "Yeah, I spent $600 on a single lego set, AND IT RULES!!" LMAO

that thing is insane though... nearly 5200 pieces...

I wonder if they'd be willing to make a 1:18th scale GTA or Z28 ... that'd be fun... 1200 pieces or so... you know we'd all buy the things...

That's pretty slick! Can you imagine having the job of making the original models, and labelling and counting every lego block so they can mass produce those? Insane I tell you.

I used to have a whole pullman suitcase full of those things when I was in grade school. They weren't so specialized as they are now, but they kept me occupied.

No no no...

Man, Lego's aren't about the sets, they're about building random stuff out of a pile of parts.

BTW, Demon, when I was about twelve I actually built a third-gen Camaro out of LEGO's. It was pretty crappy, and only about 10 inches. I still have it sitting on a shelf with a bunch of other crap.

certain lego's, I understand the sets... mainly, the harry potter and the star wars sets... you don't want to know how close to complete my collections are for both of those...

but as for the rest, I wholeheartedly agree, random stuff is the best... I used to have so many random sets of castles, knights, dragons, pirates, woodfolk, wolfpack, etc mishmashed together I'd have vast expanses of lego mutilations (dragons eating soldiers, pirates eaten by sharks, monkeys pecked apart by parrots, horses in traps in woods, knights down trap doors impaled on spears, etc) ... probably 5ft x 5ft when all was said and done... I loved it...

but same goes for the rest too, I loved just building things and letting them set for years... I wasn't as into the futuristic or modern legos... I usually ended up going for the fantasy stuff (which probably explains my huge fascination with Harry Potter, not to mention the shelves and shelves of fantasy books I have both down here and at my mothers) ... only sci-fi ish legos I got into were the star wars...

I just love toys... almost as much as I love video games... hell I've got an original gold cartridge Zelda sitting on a shelf, in a case, sealed in its factory packaging ... thats pretty sad, once i put it into text. but I have it dammit.

Technics RULE! I used to build all sorts of stuff. I had the electric motor, all the suspension, and the pnuematic set. I even built an open rear-end just to watch the spider gears start going when you did a one-tire-fire....

I was a bit of a geek.....

We have the first gen Mindstorm and looking at getting the next generation set.... the NXT: Laughing

Never too old for toys I say!

Erector sets were the rage for me and of course Hotwheels. Tinker toys were up there too.

I re-lived most of the youth experiences through my son, who is now 17.

We do play WOW together now, Im a lv 70 Hunter and he is a 70 mage Razz

Cool

Duh All i have to say is do your car up right man. Think of where you'll be in 5 years and whether or not you will look at that thing on your shelf and kick your own ass or not. If not, then go for it!
