| Which housings did you go with? Since we both know that the cheapo's off ebay suck for H4. |

I kept the cheap ebay housings. The hids work in those housings. I bought the more expencive h4 hi/lo hid kit so the inner headlights dont come on anymore. so the inner headlights will just be for the halo lights only. I need to find a color of fog that matches my headlights now though. _________________ Thirdgenless |

| You should look into retro'ing projectors. A night and day difference between freeform housings. |

I haven't been able to find anyone that makes a 4x6 projecter housing anymore. I will keep looking though. That is what i have wanted to do for a long time. _________________ Thirdgenless |

Since they use a ballast which needs to warm up to get full power, wiring like factory isn't practical. The ballast won't warm up fast enogh to make the high beams useable when you want them. _________________ 92 Camaro

Well yes and no the ones i got are hi/lo h4 in the same bulb, they call them a slider bulb. So when i hooked them up and tuned the brights on the inner 2 still worked. But they looked out of place with the hids so i unpluged them. Didn't need them anyways. But to answer the question they still function like stock. _________________ Thirdgenless |

These ones work fine. Can see anything with these. I just pull back and the the high beams are deffenetly on. They are cool. _________________ Thirdgenless |

If anything it'd be easiest (maybe not cheapest) to wire all four to be high/lows. |

actually you don't want all four light on when you are in low beam mode because i asked a cop about my headlights (right after he gave me a reckless driving ticket ) and he said that you can onlt have two sets of headlights on legally when you have you highbeams on, for the low beams you can only have one set on. (hi, I'm new by the way, nice to meet you all) _________________ 1989 IROC-Z Camaro

Sounds like a nice car you've got aximil.
Actually, you can have a second set on as long as you call them driving lights or something like that and not headlights. |

You can have on two sets of bright lights at a time. Hi + Lo beams equals two sets. Thats why factory fog and/or driving lights are disabled when the high beams are turned on. _________________ 92 Camaro

Hey martin whats up. Ya i've been told the same thing you can have 4 lights on as long as 2 of them are below your headlights but i'm sure there is a rcw hidden that says else wise. _________________ Thirdgenless |

Heheheh yeah I fixed that. I like having six lights on when I'm on the twisty mountain road in the pitch black like a frieght train! |

Heh, I have a plan for doing HID's the right way. I've been doing a lot of research on light patterns and diffrent HID tech. I have everything figured out now....just need to wait until I get back from Africa, so I can drop the coin to the D2R (true bi-xenon) bulbs and balists and everthing I need to keep the light pattern and aiming right.
I am sure you will see something on it this fall..... |
