| i have seen aftermarket ones, but to my knowledge there was no factory sunroof option. dealers frequently install things like that. |

I've seen aftermarket manual ones but never an electric. That might be kinda neat if done right.
All though T-Tops don't allow for goofy things like that |

It wasn't factory, but I remember seeing a black 91-92 Z on tgo years ago that had an electric sunroof that slide back on the outside, kinda like early 90's hondas and such. Didn't look to bad at all. When closed it was all sealed and smooth and open almost gave the roofline a little more angular look. _________________

Nothing like a smooth hard top to give it that clean look. I'm probably alone on this one, but I guess thats why i have a hard top and others don't.

| I am with jake there hard top is the way to go. They may have it better for 3 months out of the year in vancouver, but the rest of the time they have towels in there seats, soaking up the water from their leaky t tops. |

Luckily Ive never had leaky t-tops. Of course I replace the seals BEFORE they go bad . _________________

I don't know of any factory sunroof. I have an aftermarket sunroof in my 2000 Jeep Cherokee that you would swear is factory. It has a custom headliner, tilts up and down, slides back under the roof out of site between the roof and headliner. I'm not sure who made it but that would probably be the company I look for to see if they have a kit for Camaros too.
As far as looks, a hardtop is unquestionably better looking. But the T-top folks probably have more fun. I've had hardtop, convertible Vette, targa Vette, sunroof cars, and ridden in plenty of T-top cars. In my opinion, convertibles make you feel too exposed and frankly it's comfortable in only a narrow temperature range. T-tops are the least practical, twice the work of a targa top, and I don't like the bar left in the center. Targa top is awesome. Looks like a hardtop when on, and feels a lot like a convertible when off without all the extra head battering from wind. Looks great when on or off! But I have to say that a big sunroof is the best compromise. So easy to use, open close any time, and it doesn't actually feel much different than anything else. That's why all my cars for the last several years have had sunroof. And none can compare to my wife's Subaru Forester. The sunroof is just HUGE!!! |

| my moms former 1991 Buick Park Avanue had an ASC dealer installed sunroof. it never leaked (we had it until 2001ish) and it was electric. it went into the roof and it would tilt forward. it was awsome. |

the love the targa top on my del sol.
it's so much fun!
i absolutely love the look of the t-tops. there's no question in my book. the hardtops just look "emply". i love the look of the glass on the roof. i didn't really care for the bar in the middle when they're off, but it's still cool. all my birds have had t-tops, i wouldn't ever think of getting one without them! _________________ we all gotta start somewhere.... |
