Well we didnt fare too bad. We lost power 5pm thursday, got it back 3pm friday. Trees fell over my water line and I had absolutely no water either. Just got that back on today. Spent alot of time last spring cutting down trees in the front yard so they wouldnt fall and take down my power... Well the big tree out front split and hit my power line. Luckily it didnt pull it in two. But it did pull my shut off box off of the pole. It also pulled the wires from the meter.. so right now I have power but my meter isnt counting it! I think this storm finished the old house next door. I won't have to worry bout trying to rebuild it anymore looks like. It tried to rip a whole section out of the back roof, plywood and all.

I was worried bout my front porch and the barn. Especially the barn. No damage to either. If I hadnt rebuilt the porch last year, I bet it would have gone though. Some of the neighbors had their barns blow down too. Several areas are still without power today.

Here's a few pics.

This box is supposed to be screwed to the pole. The pipe underneath is actually the power shut off handle... i'm not touching it!

Spent today fixing the water, unplugging a culvert that had the creek diverted through my field, then sawing up those tree branches. Also had to fix the 3 wheeler before I could use it... then of course had to ride it everywhere.. Made it almost clear to the top of the hill behind me. About 50 ft from the upper bonneville power tower. Hill got pretty steep though, and I don't have any brakes at all on the bike.. so I had to turn around and come back down.

Damn, you guys are having quite the winter up there. Brakes on the 3 wheeler might be a good idea, you know with hill climbing and all. Laughing

It's true. Especially on a bike... when going up a hill... Yup yup

I got incredibly lucky during the storm, and I didn't even know it. Some time during the night several chunks of patio roof got blown off, flew dirrectly over my Camaro, and landed in the yard next door. Shocked

I was luckier than others in the area. Lost power from 1 am to 3 pm on Friday. My only real damage was very minor. I had to replace the cap on my chimney, which had blown off. Broke two of the three rivets holding it on.

Well I had another storm casualty today. Seems the neutral to my electrical system come apart. Since the PUD has been busy with major outages they hadnt checked my house out. Even with the shutoff box hanging out over the driveway. My computer speakers started popping and the phone started beeping away.. then I smelled smoke. My expensive 500 watt Klipsch surround sound system went up in smoke. I quickly unplugged all the electronics in the house and tested the voltage.... 160volts at the plugin!! Shocked Luckily I ran into the pud guys right out the valley. They came right out and fixed me up. But now I have to file a claim with either insurance or the PUD. This was like a $500 setup. Probably pretty lucky hte house didnt burn down. They still didnt have time to fix me up completly.. meter is still disconnected.. box is still hanging over driveway.. but at least my voltage is normal now. Looks like I'll have to have a new meter box. There's some debate whether thats on my tab or theirs. Seems that now the owner has to pay for one, but when this was installed it was PUD equipment. I'm hoping that if I have to pay, I can file it as storm damage as well.

We had no power outtage on this side of Tacoma, however turbo_jimi, on the other side of town, just got his power back last night around 11:00pm! Most of Federal Way, Kent, and Bellevue were without power, but downtown Renton didn't lose power (the Highlands did). Strange how some places were untouched while everything around them lost power for days. Gas lines were an unexpected result of all the outages. Reminded me of the second oil embargo in the late 70s! Shocked

We didn't have much down here. My power was out for about 3 hours, but came back on before I went to bed, so I was able to set my alarm clock.

Was it an STi? If not, then tell him it was a sign he should have gotten the better version. Wink

well the only reason he got the new one was because in the big snow storm some lady t-boned him and pushed sis 02 wrx into a ditch and totaled the car so he just got the payout to buy a new one last week
