So to update you on my hiatus from having a thirdgen, I have suddenly been awarded a random awesome rig to cruise in. Not a thirdgen, but definetly something I couldn't turn down...
A 1974 Chevrolet Pickup, Pro Street'ed to the tizzy....
Not the best photo but it is:
Frame/Cab off Resto
Blood Metallic Paint
Mild Build, streetable, 454
T400
Drag Suspension
4x Wilwood Discs
Ford 9 Inch
Chevrolet Custom Buckets
Front Flip Hood
Art Morrison 4 Link
Shaved Doors
Tint....the list goes on...
Anyways, some 3.00 Gears and some Mickey Sportsman SR radials for weather and I'm going to get some cruising out of it. Already took it to the local import meet....never been happier in my life.
Hope all is well with everyone! Thank you for looking at my pointless self gratifying post. _________________

I'm not big on that bumper shave, but I love the rest of that truck. |

Thanks guys. I feel the same way about some of the shaving, the rear tail lights are tucked inside the fenders, I like that....but it wasn't my labor of love so I just kind of go in awe when I stare at what I know was a lot of work. The guy met my dad, said he had been working on it just as a garage project for ten years. Was going to tow it behind a motorhome on a trailer, race and take the wife to "scenic places." Apparently the motorhome and wife beat out the truck.
Oh, and the Limo Tint is not pictured there. I forgot that.
Anyone have any idea what kind of rpms I'll pull at 60mph with 3.00 gears and a t400. Oh, that and huge ass mickeys?
I'm hoping to bring this thing to the dyno. On a side note I pulled up next an 02 formula in this thing at a light in east bremerton.....it felt good to at least LOOK intimidating.
For Schultzy the leg humper....

YAY! Tilt front ends are cool! Nice lookin man looks like that guy had real attention to detail. There are things all over that truck that people Im sure will overlook at first glance. Nice score! _________________

3.00 is actually pretty low for a TH400. My Dad's Chevy has that same tranny, but a pretty steep towing gear, and it will hold 70 on the freeway.
*Edit: I don't know your tire height, but assuming it's over 26 inches, you wont go over 2600 in third gear at 60. |

Thanks asdfg, I know that those gears are not exactly launch friendly, but with the big block and the highway time I spend, I would love to cruise for extended distances in the sub 2800 RPM range.
I still have a 350 camel humper head in the garage ready to go. If the 454 doesn't seem to equate ass hauling with gas use then I'll downgrade to something more efficient. The m-21 in the garage would really do well in this truck too.....
And to izcain, yes, front flips are definetly a nice show off piece. That and darn functional. Thank you for the compliment _________________

Sweet ride. I drove by your place on the way to IROC Magman's place today. Place wasn't open this morning when I went by and I didn't have time to stop on the way back. Nice looking from the road (if that was the same truck, out from the bay doors), would have loved to see it close up. _________________ 92 Camaro

Hey thanks! Yes, I park her by the bay doors when I'm spending the night up at the lot.
Funny how now that I own it all these people want to buy it, even though they had a few months to snag it and never came up with any money. We were only asking 8,000. Oh well, My gain. _________________
