| to answer your question, th emain distinguishing feature about a ford 9" rear is that there is no differential cover, the guts come out form the front with the yolk. crazy stuff. but 8" rears do that too (also bulletproof) |

| The 9" rear has a separate bolting flange for the pinion. |

They also don't have C clips like most GM axles do.
Tony mentioned the 8" rear,...dont' get that confused with the later 8.8 rear. the 8" was used on Falcons, Fairlanes/Torinos and Mustangs and Mavricks up until around 1972. _________________

im only using this forum to sell stuff. i have a massive amount of body / engine parts for most years. btw is it likely that a 71 transam would have a posi rear and would it fit in a camaro/bird/trans? _________________ Towed amaro, 2nd engine blown spent $1500 not spending more. That is a ringing endorsement as to how you think of us. i'm going to jump right on your profiteering bit, and buy untested scrapyard parts for more money then it would cost me to go pull them.
Your on thin ice with a comment like that danked. |

I'll see that, and raise you a ban.
Bashing people, and then trying to sell stuff, to people you have made it clear you do not like, is not what this group is about. |
