One of you guys in the Portland area needs to go check this out: 89 IROC for $800. Sounds like a simple fix. If I was closer I might just own three IROC's tomorrow!

I want the rear axle and rims. Well, if it's posi and if the rims are nice.

Here's the reply I got when I e-mailed.
Tim,
We are selling the iroc for a friend of ours. She has babied the iroc the whole time she has owned it. She had the shop replaced the rear (FACTORY) because it went out. She told me it would not start one morning. It does nothing, no clicking on the starter, it might be a ignition problem. I have the starter out and had it benched tested and it is ok. it could be the pellet on the key went bad. I don't know.the car has 140,000 miles, does not leak oil, inside is in good shape and minor scratches on the outside. If you want more info, stop by, check out the car for yourself.

| If you happen to have an off-cap coil laying around, you could probably drive that thing home. I'd bet that's what it is, assuming the security light isn't on. |

it does not crank. starter has been bench tested.
dollars to dimes it's a vats issue or starter relay. |

Yeah, if I was to go get it I'd take a coil, ign module and a laptop/autoprom to disable VATs. Should run after that.
No one going to get this? I bet it could be had for $600 EZ _________________ 1990 IROC-Z, 383 HSR, 3.70 9-Bolt

When my coil was screwing up on me I had the same symptoms as a bad VATS: All dashlights on, no crank, starter was good.
Hell, I'd take it if it wasn't so far away. |
