Well..........as they say, a picture is worth a thousand words. Found out Mr. Gasket "Ultra Seal" gaskets aren't very "ultra". Next to it is one of the new Percy's gaskets I used. Only did the left side..........that was enough for one day. Will do the right side when it starts leaking.

Ultra-Seal = Ultra-Crap. That looks about like the one I pulled out of my car.
Ironic thing is that one of the previous owners had replaced one of the sides with a regular Mr. Gasket and it was a little burnt in one cylinder, but not in bad shape, considering. |

Yup, I did those gaskets and the locking bolts when I installed the headers 2 or 3 years ago. Never have had to touch them since. No leaks. |

| are you running round tube headers on a square tube head? Just noticed that the gaskets are different. |

| I would have thought ultraseal would have been close to the nitro seals. But the nitro's definately don't do that. I've lost a bolt before and left the header leaking for a month.. no visible sign of damage to the nitro seal. I just put a bolt back in and tightened her up, probably still using the same gasket. |

| Good eye. Looks like a port mismatch on that first gasket. If your header has the raised round sealing ring you want the round port header gasket. If its got a square sealing ring you want the square gasket. Otherwise it gets too thin in the corners. |

| Looks like the new gaskets will be correct. The old ones were wrong. |

| The square ports ones were recomended as an upgrade for the square ones supplied with the headers. And if you look, it's not just the corners that blew out. They lost it everywhere........not just the corners. I decided to try the round ones for the hell of it. |
