Wanted to share something that Id rather not think about, but is weighing heavy on my mind:
I have always been into cars at some point or another and have always done most all my own work on our cars and trucks,

But a few years ago when my oldest turned his interest to cars, it’s been an everyday thing, night and day turning wrenches on his and his friend’s cars. Most of his friends didn’t have a place to work on there stuff and also lacked the knowledge of doing so.
So For the past few years these kids would come over to work on, or to get there car fixed. I live in a residential neighbor hood and have a postage stamp size of property.
We have worked on many cars, but its almost always Third Generation Camaro or some kind of Honda civic, I have counted as many as 12 cars at one time on my property, only one was tore apart, but most were kids coming over to hang out a BS, and see what the heck we were doing to one of there friends cars. They would stay for dinner and some times I would have a house full of kids sleeping on my living room floor when I awoke in the morning.
I often wondered WHERE ARE THESE KIDS PARENTS, why aren’t they involved in there kid’s lives.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Come to find out, some of these so called parents, are Crack heads, drug dealers, alcoholics and so on, and so on. I get so pissed when I here this stuff.

We worked on a specific, Honda civic a couple months ago, turned out I really like this kid!!!! But he has parents like the ones stated above, and a certain amount of that life style did role into this kids life style swell. We put in a different motor in his car.

Two nights ago, he and two friends, one of which was his best friend, at 1:00 am three maybe four blocks from my house, (I could here the sirens) blew a stop sine doing 100+MPH in this car. Hit a SUV killing a woman and also killed his best friend in his car.
There were two people in the SUV and three in this Honda civic, the driver of the Honda (this kid I really like) was dead at the scene, but was revived in the ambulance. They rolled the car and the top was ripped off and they weren’t wearing seat belts, maybe would not have helped anyway. They were drinking and looking for some place to E-BRAKE at, Drifting. He is 18, killed two people, this is his 2ND DUI as well. It looks like he is going to make it.
It’s tough to think about this, Iam torn because He killed an innocent Mom in the SUV. All three of the people in the Honda were drinking and out for a good time, CRAP………
His parents haven’t been found yet, they are crack heads, they don’t even know what happened, and have not been to the hospital yet.
These parents should go to jail as he will for the next 10 to 20 years…………I still like this kid but crap….

WHERE IN THE HELL have his parents been for the last 18 years……………
They are as responsible for this as he is………
All these other kids came over last night and it was heart wrenching, crying and sobbing.
My son spent all day at the hospital.
Where were the parents all his life?

Wow Scott. I don't have anything to really say. That is such a tragic story in so many ways. Our pray's will be with all of those involved, and their family's.

That really does suck. Nice kid but you gotta figure he's at fault for succumbing to any peer pressures as well as drinking and driving. I'm curious as to how he had a license in the first place, being underage with a previous DUI.

It's the lack of responsability and accountability that kills the innocent lives like those in the SUV.

A tragic accident that should be learned from.

That just happened last week. I work with a friend of one of the guys who died. Sucks, but there's nothing you can do about it. People get themselves killed doing dumb sh** all the time.

I believe that is another tragic loss of life, not the one I was talking about,
Just goes to show you that it does happen all the time.
The wreck happened at or near 144th and 86th st on south hill.
There was an article in the tnt about it, If I can find it I will post it up.

Found out some more info, original info was wrong, you know how stories get changed from person to person.

Driver in SUV was not killed; they were able to walk away, (thank God)
The best friend of the driver did die at the scene.

My kid was up at the hospital for a few hours last night again.
The Dad is there now. He made some list as who can go see his son in ICU.
Driver had to be placed on a breathing machine last night
He had a suspended drivers license, ya and no insurance, nor tabs on the car.
Yes he is at fault and will pay for it, if he recovers and will go straight to jail from the hospital; they say he is looking at 10 to 20 years.

I still feel that these parents are some what, and some how responsible for this and still should go to prison with him.
You know how the crap that the parents do, most of the time the kids do as well, same behaviors, and same bad habits, not always but in this case I would say Yes.


When my kid got home last night we started to put the 91 harness in the 88 vert, I could tell the kid wasn't really there but he still wanted to work on the car. He is looking forward to putting on the intake next week as well. His 58mm holley came in the mail, in the morning, It does look Cool.

Police suspect driver was drunk in car crash that killed Olalla man

A 22-year-old man was killed and three others were hurt late Thursday when a car traveling at high speeds ran a stop sign and T-boned a second vehicle in South Hill, a Pierce County Sheriff’s Department spokesman said Friday.
Jeffrey Peterson of Olalla, the man killed, was the front-seat passenger in the car, which was heading east on 144th Street East about 11:55 p.m. when it hit a second vehicle traveling south on 86th Avenue East, said sheriff’s spokesman Ed Troyer.
Investigators suspect the 18-year-old driver of Peterson’s car was drunk, Troyer said. His driver’s license had been suspended and he had a warrant for his arrest on suspicion of reckless driving, Troyer added.
The driver was being treated at Tacoma General Hospital, where he was listed in critical condition Friday.
Investigators planned to book him into the Pierce County Jail on the warrant and charges related to Thursday’s crash when doctors say he can leave the hospital, Troyer said.
The other passenger in Peterson’s car, a 17-year-old boy, was taken to Tacoma General Hospital for treatment of multiple injuries, Troyer said. He was listed in serious condition Friday, a hospital spokeswoman said.
None of the people in Peterson’s car wore a seat belt.
The driver of the other car was taken to Good Samaritan Hospital for treatment of minor injuries.
