1986 Chevrolet Camaro Berlinetta

So I'm driving the 85 today. I drive up to my friend Rob's machine shop. I stop in and deliver something real quick and I"m on my way home. I hop on 205 south and I'm driving along ok. I'm coming off the Glisan/Stark ramp ...and BANG felt like a hard hit against the bottom of the car....black smoke starts pouring out the exhaust, I have almost no acceleration whatsoever. I'm screaming the usual line of colorful words and pounding my fist into the steering wheel....flip on the hazards and limp my way off the freeway. I get to about 90th and as turn down the street, the car dies. Won't crank, won't do anything and smoke is pouring out from the cowl and hood. There's oil all over the firewall, all over the back of the intake....I dont know what's wrong, and I don't care....My guess is a rod bearing but its a shitty 305 and as far as I'm concerned its scrap metal.

I'm pulling the 5 Speed and the flywhel for the Berlinetta and the rest is either being parted or hauled off to a junkyard.

Its being parted out....and scrapped.

*EDIT*
Rob and towed it home with his dad's truck (he had to note the irony of a Ford towing a chevy..) and put it in front of the house. Its leaking oil aroudn the rear main seal, its all over the pavement....its a f--ing mess....URRRRRHHH!!! IM SO INSANELY PISSED!!!

1 rocker arm stud busted off, firing a pushrod into my valve cover.
Now what I'm guessing is a rod or rod bearing.

Two failures inside of 6 months......and I only shift around 3500rpm.

Looks like its time to tear down that 350 in the berlinetta and start a buildup on that.
