I just got the z28 back on the road. The new 4.10 gears are awesome. I can already feel an improvement in power. Tomorrow i'm taking it in for an oil change and getting my exhaust tighten up. Then I'm taking it to the high school drags tomorrow at PIR. I'm going to try to break into the 12's. _________________ 85 Z28, 383 Stroker, TH350 tranny, Richmond 4.10 gears, dual exhaust

You must be hooking up well, to go 13.3 @ 100 (at least for PIR). Enough of us have 13.3 times skips, and traps in the 106 range. |

And still searching for that elusive 12 second pass.
If I hook up and launch well enough to break 12s... I break an axle lol. |

82camaro383,
What does your 383 rev to? With 4.10 gears it's going to be screamin at the end of a 1/4 mile strip. You don't plan to shift into OD do you? My combo shifts from 1-2, 2-3 at 6k w/3.70's, crossing the line the tach reads 7k in 3rd. My tach may be off (after all it is getting old) but not by much.
You may run out of steam unless you're really revving or, you use OD but, thats no good for your tranny. _________________ 1990 IROC-Z, 383 HSR, 3.70 9-Bolt

4.10 gears on factory 16" thirdgen wheels/tires, in 1:1 gear = 109MPH around 6000k

Cool! Glad it works out mathematically. I just know when I'm looking at my tach approaching 7k and hearing the engine scream it's definately got me concerned! I sure wouldn't try 4.10's!
On a side note though... I do have a MSD-6AL with a 6,000 RPM chip in it and it hasn't cut out on me so I know I havent reached 6K, but damn it's gotta be close!
Best of luck to you at the drags 82camaro383! _________________ 1990 IROC-Z, 383 HSR, 3.70 9-Bolt
