so, i was down in kfalls last weekend and i stoped by Rodney's place. he pointed out somthing interesting i had never noticed. the standard aloy wheels on firebirds (15/16" options) have both a concave and convex version. i have the concave, brandon has the convex. see for yourselves:

CONVEX (pic courtesy of chevymad):

CONCAVE (my car):

so now i have a question, which ones do you all like better. just the style, ignore the condition, as the only picture of brandons i could find non-powdrecoated don't look too hot. just the design of the wheel. this poll is just about these two styles, i myself prefer the GTAs to both of these, but of the two prefer the concave style more. not just because i have them either. it realy is the one i prefer.

Brandon's. I don't necisarilly hate the others, I just thing his look better.

Either way, you need to swap the wheels on the GTA long before you mess with the ones on the little Bird. Rolling Eyes

I always liked the concave wheels better on the clean lines of Formula's.

Your leaving out the 16" version of your wheel that came on 88 and later formulas.

I'm partial to the convex wheels since I had them on my old 87. One year only on the formulas and 2-3 on the TAs

I'm with Paul.........I like my wheels to have a little bit of dish to them.

I'd probably put Early Z/28/ RS wheels on a base bird if I had one.

I love the star pattern of them and the IROCs.

Actually, the wheels I REALLY like are the ones like Rod has on his Camaro.

I like dished wheels, but can't stand the concave pontiac wheels for some reason. Between them and the one's I have i'd take the convex. I think the biggest reason is I like more rim in a dished wheel. The convex are dished but show no rim.

Tony, I'm pretty sure there are TWO types of the concave 16" wheels. The riveted ones you're thinking of and a version like that without rivets.

Then again, I'm crazy.

I don't think those are that ugly. They wouldn't be my first, second or third choice, that's for sure.

The convex has a more defined outer rim, the concave lacks in that definition..
