I think I've figured out my EGR issue. The connector wiring may be rotated 120*. Now I need to Radio Shack to pick up some solderless splice connectors or some shrink tube and rewire the EGR harness connector.

Converted my truck from a th350 to a 200 4r. Hooking the tv cable to a holley is a real witch. The brackets holley sells do NOT work correctly. Without the bracket pulls the cable too far, with the bracket doesnt pull it enough.

Dang, I feel bad, I didn't do squat for the TA except fill it with exxon and drive it around. I have some stainless steel brake lines and the aluminum diff. cover to put on but just have not got to them yet. I did go to see the Cars movie today, cute show, kinda a chick flick.

Washed it, filled it with gas, and went on an awsome 150 mile cruise with the wife. Cool

Well didn't work on the car, but on friday I got in the greasable upper door hinge repair kit. I hope next week I can put them in. My left door is rubbing on my ground effects badly.

greasable hinge replacement and lower hinge replacement was one of the best things i di on my v6. i left the doorspring out, so now the door feels even lighter since i don't have to fight it open. it's nice. Smile

The lower pin and bushings is readily available. But...........to replace it you have to pull the lower pin (not easy to get out) then remove the lower hinge from the body in order to change the bushings. Two bolts are easy, one is not. I didn't think my upper was bad either until I got my lower pin out and checked the upper pins. So I bit the bullet and ordered the kit from TDS on the group buy for $86. Nice kit, way overpriced. Should be $40 at most. But........he has a lock on it. No one else makes the upper hinge repair kit. But you really only need one for the drivers door. My pass door is tight as can be. I got the greasable kit so I'd not have to replace the bushings in the uppers again.

my passanger door sags worse then my drivers door. i allready have one hinge repair kit that i never used on the six that i am going to put on the GTA, i just need toorder another one.... oh, and then schedule two days to actualy do it. last time i spent 4 hrs just grinding off the old pins... stupid dremel.

next time i am just biting the bullet and removing the door first... when i did it on the six i never actualy removed the hinges from the car, only the hinge halves from themselves... this way i would not have to re-alighn the door. i added two hours to save myself 20 minutes Rolling Eyes, and with the door out of the way i can use a grinder on them Twisted Evil

Nuttin'!

I went down to the Medford Cruise-In to visit with my Dad and his buddies. My Dad and his best friend (who I was named after) made the paper - Medford Mail Tribune Article. The picture here is small but it was like half a page in the paper. Tony is native American and you can't quite make it out but his t-shirt says 'Homeland Security - Fighting Terrorism since 1492' Laughing That little Anglia has a sbc with a 6-71 on top - squirrelly! Had a great weekend.

My 'dewey pile' consists of beehive valve springs, new headliner/sail panel material and a 9 bolt rear with higher (numerically) gears.

Cheers!

-Schultzy

That was definately worth taking the time to read. Very remarkable.

Your dad is kind of like a local hero (as much as co-founding a car club can make you one)

Thumbs up

I didn't get anything much accomplished on Saturday or Sunday but last week I:

took heads off Budgetracer's old 305 (one had a crack at the base of a rocker arm stud, and the coolent passeges were in HORRIBLE shape so I didn't end up using them)
cleaned all the pushrods in my Z/28, and replaced two of them
set valve lash(with some patriarchical assistance)
reinstalled the exhaust manifolds (Ended up bending the exhaust pipe a little on one)
put the distributor and carburator back in
took a timing light over the car.
Replaced 2 belts
Installed new Delco A45 plugs.

Still runs too rich....Dad and I leaned the carb as far as it would go and keep running...I think I have a burnt or sticking valve somewhere. Chatters a little on 3/4 throttle.

On the berlinetta I:

Put my extra Z/28 wheels on
installed the dash and dash pad
Instaled the 84's old dash wiring harness
Removed the SLP headers
Took some degreaser to the engine bay and shortened/re-routed extra vaccum lines.

I was going to put the ZZ4 manifold and Headers on the 85/Z, but I dont think the motor is long for this world......seems to run worse each time I drive it.

It's an 85 monte tranny. 2004r's are a direct bolt in for the th350. Just move the xmember back to the th400 position and everything hooks up. A 700 would have required alot more mods and is ultimately weaker then the 200 anyway.
