And hillarity follows. Link gets posted on a Lamborghini forum, Corner-Carvers, and a few other exotic and muscle-car forums. Prius owners try to defend their cars, as being "Faster from 0-6mph, than an Enzo"

Hehehe.....

They are so slow. In fact if a little kid went out chasing a ball infront of you on the street, you'll have aged dramatically, gone gray, and still missed the kid.

OMG my friend totaly has a prius, well it's his moms... we go out on fridays and "hunt" for unsuspecting muscle cars to "kill". most people don't know it but these things have huge tourqe of the line. his moms prius is tottaly faster then my GTA Very Happy

for real though, they hit mid 18s... thats not bad. oh wait yeah it is. my 2.8 would beat that.

Okay, lets look at this:

honda civic del sol vs. Toyota prius

Here's the thing to remember about the Del Sol: It's almost as fast as a Honda riding mower, but since it has full exhaust, more weight, and is less aerodynamic, it's not.

crotch rocket(i think it was a kawasaki.. but my recolection on what kind of jap sport bike it was is not so good ) vs prius
prius kept up with the bike through the first gear

Uh-huh. A race to second gear? That's really something.

Mustang GT 5.0 VS. prius
(a personal note on this one, it was an up hill and around a curve race)

Laughing Mustang on a curve. That alone is priceless.

prius vs 87 camry 4cyl 2.4L manual

Lance Armstong could beat that on his bike.

I'm curious what the top speed is. I'd imagine it could do around 120-135mph based on how easily it did 107mph.

Top speed is basically gearing and aerodynamics, not torque or any useful performance measure. And if you don't have the stones to go past 107, you shouldn't be talking smack to racers.

My wife ran hers at the Houston dragstrip. She turned 17.8 seconds at 78? mph.

Laughing Laughing Rolling Eyes See the comment about Lance Armstrong.

lol, well most NEW sportbikes, go 70-90mph in first gear, so for a prius that is something!

I'm assuming he meant the Prius' first gear. Laughing

back when i had a sazuki samurai i used to do a thing i called "one sidded drag racing" this is baisically "racing" everyone from a light without there knowledge. i somtimes won. one time i beat a corvette. this only works on surface streets as the zuke topped out, and i mean TOPPED OUT at 55-60MPH.

i thnk this is what the prius drivers are experianceing.

ohh.. this reminds me of a classic line. i am in my 2.8 on the way home from a movie, it is my sister, brother and i. my brother joey says this as i am hitting 2K in first off a light, NOTE i was driving normal, not racing around or anything.
JOEY: "dude, are you racing this guy?"
ME: "no... why"
JOEY: "`cause i think he is racing you!"

at this point i look over at this guy in a rice car and he is pushing it, he has a look on his face like he is trying to poop, and he winds it out to like 5K and shifts FAST.

ME "whatever"
i slightly accelerate a little, just enough to stay "ahead" of him until the next light, where he again took off like a rocket and i intentionaly went realy slow. Smile it was a negative kill.

I love people that do that. Always makes me laugh a little. The other day I was going down the 509 freeway through the Tacoma tideflats (the freeway that goes out to Dash/Browns point). There was nobody around, so as usual I take off from the light and slowly wind it up to about 100-110.

Going down past Port of Tacoma Road, I pass this little white 4.0L Jeep. Guy is doing at least 90. Slowed down to about 80, and I see the Jeep coming up behind me. He's doing close to 100 now, probably about as fast as that thing can go. Rolling Eyes

I jump back into it, and blow past him again. I swing into the left turn at the light on Alexander, and he pulls up beside me. I'm actually laughing out loud in my car at this point, so I lean over and yell "pretty good, man" at him. He just rolls his eyes at me. Laughing

I know it's a pointless story, but I thought it was pretty funny.

Yup yup Get down and Boogie!

it's funny about the jeeps though, the inline four makes MASSIVE low end tourqe, but they don't have the gearing to go fast with it, which makes sense becasue it is an SUV. but if you throw 35s on them without changing the gearing you actualy make them faster, and less capable off road. my cousin had a 4.0 with 36" (i think, it has been a while) and that sucker beat my brothers stock 240SX (this is the day he bought it, what a buzzkill)

interesting i think.

EDIT* here is the only photo i still have of my jeep. it is a backround image i made for my PC back in the day.

Last night after picking my girlfriend up, I was on I-84 West from heading towards the I-205 interchange....anyways...its like 11:45, I get to this stretch where there is NO traffic for at least two miles up ahead....

This camry (02 or newer..) starts picking up speed....I shift out of fifth into third and go......I go flying by the camry at about 80mph, and he drills it and tries to keep up....I didn't stomp him badly but he slowly slipped further and further back as we began to hit 100, then 110 then 115 and I put it in neutral and just let myself roll...he does the ricer fly by about 5 seconds later....flipping me off.......what a douschebag.

I have an exciting story that happened today in the other direction. Just about killed four people (including me).

This is long so I"m gonna post entirely seperate for this one.

hmm well after reading this & the original post
all i gotta say is those dudes need to lay off the meds
theres no way a Prius is gonna beat almost all of the mentioned cars
let alone a crotch rocket, my Suzuki 1200cc will do 60-70 in first gear, the freeway on ramp by my house, from a dead stop I can be doing 100 easily before i even get on the freeway, if they were lucky with a strong wind, they might hit, what 60?

bah, what a bunch of crap for brains, posers

i still cant get over 1 of em saying the only reason a M3 beat him, cause it was downhill & the M3 had better tires
