I cast my vote for "no". Think about the cars that you think look really really good. Odds are that they all have one thing in common: Clean lines with a little attention to detail. Simple is beautiful.
I don't know how much louvers cost, but I think you are better off spending money on things that give the car the right stance and clean lines. Examples are mild lowering kits, the right size rims and tires (tucked inside the fenders), exhaust tips in the right location, window tinting. Unfortunately, plastic bolt-ons generally look like... plastic bolt-ons. But in the end it's your car and all that matters is that you like the end product. |

I think they're ok, BUt you would have to keep them really clean because if they start to fade or collect dirt they look really tacky. |

Normally I would walk away from this topic as it comes and goes so many times in different forums, but since it hits closer to home I need to respond.
Im not sure about the point of this thread, it seems it's purpose was intended to gather public opinion about an option on a 3rd gen FBody and also BTW a standard feature on at least one of the most notarized cars of it's time, the DeLorean DMC12
To those who decided to bash away at this ugly, hideous attachment to your otherwise pristine and beloved car, I would have you take a look at one wall in my office that holds several car show awards from judges who had no problems with this option. One show in particular picked my ride over a certain 02 Firehawk, so obviously the gross, non-clean looking attachment had little bearing on their opinions.
Im sure you meant no harm or foul, but when I see this common response I do tend to take it personally, and that may be my fault and not yours.
It should be noted that the aftermarket did flood the masses with several versions of the shade, but what I have seen so far the factory produced the best and lowest keyed version. Some universal models would have to fit around a 3rd brake light (Im so glad I dont have one of those and If you do Im sorry lol) and a rear wiper.
The 3rd gen hatch window was a breakthrough in many ways. To produce a shape so large and complex was a big engineering accomplishment, thus trying to make a cover for it, with all its complex contours was impossible for some parts makers so as you may have seen the results were less that desirable |

We all go through an awkward stage sometime in our lives. But don't worry, you'll grow out of it soon. |

Hey, I like my 1986 one year only 3rd brake light.
Would hate to cover it with a set of automobile mini-blinds. |
