I love my Taylors. 90º Boots fit right in there nice.
Headers usally like the wires routed up over the valve covers. Zip ties work great for temporary looms. |

thus the heat boot protectors and routing them away from my awsome tubage. so far i have been rolling with the right side tucked for two weeks now. left side still has the "up and over" routing.
you guys don't realy think i should move em back up top do ya? cause if the more experienced car guys say it's a bad idea to tuck them under then i will put em back..... |

Doesn't really matter Tony. Just keep them from coming in contact with the headers. I like the idea of keeping them tucked out of the way but with them up and over I can inspect them easier... no big deal.

| I made special looms to run them along side the valve covers right above the headers. So I can still pull my valve cover, without fudging with wires. |

i like opening my hood and seeing engine. i tucked all the injector wires and the alternator wires on the driverside. they are double-loomed and behind the runners. thats the one downside of running a spiffy intake like the stealth ram (thats what you're running right schultz?) there is no room for hiding things. pluss TPI looks sweet.
EDIT* does anyone know where i can get header bolts with an alan head or torx head? hex head header bolts suck.
EDIT* found some. are these the right size? i know they are the right thread size ( 3/8th-16th) but are they long enough?

I'm running the mini-ram (TPIS). Paul, Ian, Sean are running the stealth ram (Holley).

| I can hide mine better than they are now, but I put the Commander 950 wiring harness in after the engine had ran for a while and didn't want to take things apart. As things come apart for various reasons, things get rerouted. |

I personally like the look of no wires, It makes things look real clean under the hood. But I have seen some cars with nice ignition systems with the wires over the top, if they are colorful and pretty wires _________________ 1983 Z-28 5.7 LT1, T56, Headman headers, BW 9 Bolt Posi Disc, WS6 suspension

well, replaced all my plugs in my continued effort to track down my miss that i have had since i replaced my headers... during my header instalation i re-used all the plugs that were allready on the engine. they looked fine so i figured why spend $$. i also dropped on repededly on the ground because it is hard to maintain grip on them. well it turns out i had flattened one of them by droping it. my #3? (2nd one from the firewall on the drivers side) plug had 0 gap. it was getting NO SPARK. i have been running on 7 cylanders since i installed my headers!!
i can not wait to drive it and see how much power it has finaly running on all 8 ! |

well, drove the car to school, MY GOD... it is so fast now. the ramp signal was off when i went to get on 26 today, but there was no traffic so i stopped anyway. puncged it, left a smokey cloude and was up to 90MPH when i looked at the speedo just after the 2-3 shift. it's so awsome.
i got in the car and started her up, felt less powerfull, but smooth as glass. i got up to about 25 on my street, felt normal. then i pulled onto the main street THAT is when i noticed the change. i am verry exited to drive my car now. the bug has bit me. i want to do things to make it faster _________________ 86' firebird (Junked in 2015). 88' GTA (sold in 2020).

Awesome Tony! Sounds like you are finally up in the power range that you should be. Between the spark plug and possibly not having all of your timing should be mucho better.
When I first installed the headers it didn't 'feel' as fast at first but it definitely was. I noticed that I got up to speed a lot quicker... look down at speedo - oopsie
As far as the bug - lolololololololol
NAAWWWWSSS!
Enjoy.

I really want to find an empty street some night....er.....I mean the track... and see just how fast the GTA is now. I'll bet my 4th gen will get schooled "hardcore" style... (ask John what that's like)... _________________
