On their exhaust. I'm thinking of shorty headers into a Y pipe, to a electric cutout thru to a single exhaust. Idea's, comments, welcome.

Motor is 350, performer intake, 650cfm carb, gnarly cam, vortec heads

I have the setup your thinking about. Headman shorties, mod the Y pipe to 3", electric cutout, and a 3" Banks cat back. Seems to be plenty for my 350 making about 350 hp at the crank.

Are the gains worth it for the price of the cutout? What is RPM ranged is increased the most?

I only gained 6 hp at the wheels with the cut out open. I also have one of the best flowing 3" single exhaust out there. $200 could be better spent on other things in my opinion but the electric cutout is a fun gadget to have on the car.
