i was attempting to swap out my AC heater box for a NON-AC box and all was going well. i got to the hardest engine bay bolt, the one closest to the exhaust. has in the middle of removing a bunch of stuff to get at it. pulled this vaccume line and broke the dam thing. i am pretty sure i can rplcae the hard elbow with some soft flexable line. but to get it i have to drive to my dads house. so i am wondering, what does this go too? will driving with it plugged do any harm?

it appears to enter the passanger cabin. leading me to believe it is the vaccume that oporates the vents (my car has electronic vent control, not cable oporated). but i am not sure thats what it does. anyone know for certain?

it is near the tranny dipstick (right in the way of that bolt btw. i gotta go stick) on the passanger side of the car. right above the valve cover.

heres a phot. taken with the phone, sorry for the crapy-ness

The only place I can think it might go is to the heater control valve (if you have one). It controls how much water goes through the heater core. If you have one, the valve is in line with your upper heater hose.

nothing enters the passanger cabin with the heater hoses on my car. this line (that i broke) enters the wire looming with all the wires that go to the ECM. maybe i have the rare vaccum-powered ecm (RPO=SUK Rolling Eyes )

Doesn't enter the firewall with the heater hose, just controls a valve which is on the upper hose. On mine, that vacuum line enters the firewall by itself (may have come out of a wire loom). If you have one, this valve is on the upper hose, just behind the accessories.

Just a thought, I might be wrong, but that is the only place I can think of that a stray vacuum line from that area might go.

no valves on my header hose up there.. odd that you mention this though, about a foot and a half down the top line ther IS a thing. looks like an EGR. it is fed by the OTHER vacuume line coming out of the passanger cabin looking. perhaps they are indeed related.

the broken one probably feeds the HVAC control module. for the vents and coolent flow regulater, and the other one (not yet broken) is the line bringing the regulated vaccume to the flow control valve...

whew... glad it's not anything vital.

That's the one I was thinking of. That is the heater control valve, it controls the amount of water that goes to the heater core.
