You can see if your dizzy cap and/or rotor are shot very easily.

Take them off, look at the terminals (they will be inside the cap, should be 8 of them on a V8, 6 on a V6, etc) if they look corroded then they are probably in need of replacement, and replace the cap. You will be looking for where the rotor contacts the terminals to see if it's corroded any. If it is, replace that as well.

Your roter can also get coroded at the center point where it draws power from the coil.

Also, go back and recheck all your connections, and your wire routing. It's easy to route wires in bad positions, and end up burning them.

So it wont start at all now? Did you check for spark out of the coil wire itself? Just disconnect from cap and hold near a ground while someone cranks.(i prefer the other way myself Wink )If you have spark at the coil wire but none at the plug wires then you need a cap/rotor. If this is a large cap HEI then you'll have to pull the cap off, leave the wires connected to the cap(not the plug wires) stand back and crank the motor.. You should see lightning/hear snapping of spark. If you have no spark out of the coil or coil wire then you're most likely problem is a dead ignition module.
