I'm looking at several different cams right now, but I dont know which valve springs I should be getting with each one. The Comp's 968 valve spring seems pretty popular on TGO, but what about for a little more radical of a cam? Like Lunati's Voodo 284/292 Cam with 0.525 int./0.546 exh. lift?

On Summit's site it doesnt say how much lift any valve springs can handle. It mostly just says installed and compressed height, which really does me no good (I think? lol).

I heard from John that the LT4 springs require no machining and are good for up to .600 lift, plus I can find them on eBay for fairly cheap. Longevity of the springs shouldnt be a problem since I rarely drive the camaro for more than a couple days in a row anyways (before something breaks on it lol).

On another note, would that 284/292 cam leave me with not enough vacuum for brakes? Would it be streetable "enough" ? Wink

Cam manufactures put valve spring recomendations with the cam (check the manufactures site, not summit). You can then look up the specs, and that will tell you what you are looking for as far as spring rates.

For example, the cam you listed, Lunati suggests using the 73943 valve springs with that cam.

110 Lbs Seat Pressure @ 1.750 Installed Height, 345 Lbs Open Pressure @ 1.230, 1.160 Coil Bind.
