Does Ed Wright have a web site??

How much was the chip?

Is there a .bin that some one has, that they would share with me, that has the hot cam ?

Looks the whole family will end up going to portland for the dyno.
what part of town is it? or where should we get reservations?

Scott, it really depends on your plans. Feel free to e-mail me. I live out in Gresham (east side of Portland). The dyno shop itself is in Lake Oswego (south side of Portland). If you guys are going to make a weekend of it, and want to stay out on this side of town, I can send you the names and numbers of 3 or 4 motels right around me. There are also a few near Mike (Schultzy), he lives down in Clackomous. There are lots of options, if you guys are going to stay the whole weekend, it might be easier to stay near where one of us live, so that it is easy to meet up for all the stuff other than the dyno itself.

Let me speak to you from experiance with my car, Mike (schultzy), and John (dewey)s car, our mods and tuning. As well as some observations of others.

To properly tune a car, hell even to get it close in MOST cases, the tuner needs to be able to FEEL what the car is doing and SEE what the log says as it happens.

In fact, I don't even data log anymore, I just look at realtime sensor readings and adjust accordingly.

I have a few bins to send you that will get you started, but you need to get in there and do it.

Mike's Ed Wright chip wouldn't start the car when it was hot. Though our tuning he pumped out some serious power with a mismatched cam and 383.

I've done alright myself, and John's up there too for what we have.

You could take it to a shop to be tuned, but you're looking at $500+ and your car gone for a few days. Now if you're lucky and money isn't a problem, go for it! Personally I don't like other people dicking with my car. All that work and money put into it, to make it available for someone to screw up. Hell, I take my wheels off and down to the tire shops rather than letting them drive the car in and out of the bay, etc.

I can understand how you feel,
I would rather do it myself as well, than take the car in and let someone mess it up.
$500 + ouch.
Iam thinking of buying the Ostrich from moates, would this be a helpful ?
Iam very interested in those bins and would like to take a look at them

From what I can tell it plugs into your pcm and it emulates your chip.
You can tune on the fly, via your laptop., no more uploading to a chip then putting it in your pcm.
when you get what you want, you can load the info onto a chip
It can stay in the car if you want.

I've got something similar called the prominator. Plugs into your ecm and you run a parallel cable to your laptop. You can upload 8 bins (n ot sure why you'd need that many). Stays plugged in.

The ostrich has its own power source, batteries that last forever, and is, I believe USB only.

The only problem I have with all this stuff is there isn't any directions, its all on line, you have to search for everything,

There are two versions of the prominator a upload on the fly version for $275 I think? And the one I bought for $170 that supposedly doesn't let you upload while the car is running. I've tried it though and the car just stumbles once and keeps going with the new tune. Handy little inventions that have come out.
