STUCK!?!?!?! yeah if you arent locked up and you don't know how to drive!!! before i had a thirdgen i had a BONE STOCK 87 charokee. no way that is "stuck". he could have backed up... it's not like he just cleared a huge rut or somthing....
if you read on a bunch of the 4x4 guys talk about how it was shity driving that caused thar fup. what a moron.
"uh oh, i put my firebird into a curb, now the front wheel is in the grass. instead of backing onto the street, i think i will keep driving forward and go over the wooden foot bridge, and get out of this that way!" morons.... |

And I do! And I now carry a small shovel with me in the back! I think the best part was when that toyota just drove around us and left! |

John, was that with c-clip 4x4 or was that still 2x? I forget. Either way, it was spring and we were testing the 4x4 on the old S15 Jimmy I had. The snow was real hard and we were doing fine.... then it sank and we were high centered. The dorks we were, didn't bring any tools or shovels or anything (didn't plan on getting to a point of possible stuckage!)
So we tried everything we had. Letting the engine run to melt the snow, carb cleaner and a lighter (more for fun and aggression lol), then we tried to dig er out with sun visors... only thing we had!
Then we said F-it and were planning on spending the night w/o food lol. Then a big lifted hardcore Toyota 4x4 comes up the trail. We flag at him, and he just drives right around us and keeps going!
Then another one comes up and John about puts himself in the line of fire to get this truck to stop. Guy helped us back down.
Got into town, had food, all was well. |

one time i had my non lifted charokiee on the sand on oregon coast. got over the soft sand onto the beach easy, then when i tried to come back i sank, one hour of digging with three people and we were out, so i backed up almost to the water, put it in four high (actualy two wheel since fron and rear are open diffs ) and got up to about 35-40, caught air, three wheels of the ground from the bouncing, but made it back to dry land. there was much rejoicing and dinner at camp 18 |

What total morons. Look at the angle of that winch cable. It's pulling straight down.. almost all the force is perpendicular to the way they want to move the vehicle. They needed to get the winch vehicle further back or set an anchor and block. Doesnt look like anybody had a set of blocks either. Use enough pulleys you can move the world, or pull the jeep in half.
Lookin at that first pic some more, all they really had to do was jack the front up till the rear tires touched and stick the spare or something under them. Or maybe even dig a little. No reason there to destroy the jeep like they did. |
