So today at the junkyard I got lotsa good stuff
Rear WS6 springs (couldnt figure out for the life of me how to get the fronts out, and couldnt get the front strut out cuz it kept turnign when I tried the nut on the top).
36/24mm sway bars
9 bolt rear end with posi and 3.2x gears and disk brakes
I got the rear struts too, but they were toast.
I met a guy who knew about Cascade Crew, there. He helped me put the rear in my barrel (twice lol). Nice guy, forgot to ask him his name though. Speak up if yah read this, I owe yah one
total for it all was 137. Rear itself was only 75 dollars.
Now I need to put all this stuff in, and get some angle iron, and a welder so I can install my 91-92 gfx, and all this suspension gear (and figure out how to get springs out short of taking off the A-arms). |

was this at the tigard u-pull it? did they FINALY put out a new fbody. i have been picking over the same five for like 3 months. what color/yr/model was it, i may want to go see if there is anything left.
also, to get fronts out you need to let the a-arms drop(nothing but two bolts holding them to kmember, no tie rods to spindles and no a-arms to spindles, no swaybars) then you can kick them out dangerous, but it works _________________ 86' firebird (Junked in 2015). 88' GTA (sold in 2020).

newish. Yes, it's the Sherwood U-pull it yard.
It's a 86 (I think) GTA. Has a 5 speed, 305 (i think, could be a L98).
It still has the 140mph speedo. The fender vents have been grabbed off of it. Still has all the GFX, and body parts are in great shape still
I pretty much nabbed everthing of much use to me on it except the front springs which I plan to go back on monday and get. Thanks for the info on getting the springs out. I was about to do that, but didnt really want to be in the yard any longer since I had been there since around 9:30 - 10ish, and it was 2.
Oh, they got a 90 Camaro there that looks in pretty good shape, I didnt see anything that was particularly valuable on it though.
They also got another firebird there, I dont remember the year. And another green camaro. 89 I think?
They still have 5 or 6 f-bodies there. But they recently crushed 2 or 3 of them. One being the Green 91 that I pulled all of the ground effects off of, and the blue one that was a 90 'maro with all the 91 ground effects except the front lower ground effect. |

I was at foster and damascus yesterday and got a very nice set of door panels, and a good left side black seat belt for my car. I've not been to the yard in tigard recently, the last time I went was a total waste of time and gas.
Maybe we should kinda keep a running list of what yard has what, and new cars that come in posted here. Might be a help to others looking for parts. I'd like to find a set of nice 4th gen seats, and some decent black carpet. |

Good idea Dan. I was at Damascus the other afternoon. Realized that I didn't ask if anyone needed anything. Man that place is clean.

Yeah Dan, I dont mind picking up items for crewbies.
Should get us a stickie on the wanted forum for junkyard items or something.
The one in Tigard doesnt have any 4th gens at all, or any other fairly nice cars. But they do sell things for rather cheap! So I guess that makes up for it.
BadBobb66, Is that the same type of hood that when WOT will open up the cowl flap or whatever from a CFI camaro? I'm curious as to how those wire up in that case
That is a LONG day of junk yarding! I hope you came out with something of value atleast lol.
I think I might check and see if the heads on that GTA were 416 castings too, or the L98 heads if it's a 350... something new to port. Trying to stock pile up for winter since I'm sure my full time job wont be supporting me very well when we get snowed in
Anyone want some head porting done? lol. |

The damascus yard has a 4th gen, but the font clip has been cut off it. Has the rear in it, but can't tell what engine it had, but was an automatic, so prob a high geared rear in it. Not much else on it is usable.
I also don't mind picking up stuff for others. Just don't stick me with them by telling me you already found one, and forget to post it on here.
So, my needs/want list is:
Black rear rool up privacy curtian for a friend
Working electric hatch pull down (for the same friend-marine staff sgt buddy)
4th gen seats-front and rear-black
Nice black t-top headliner
Maybe we should put this somewhere other than the back porch forum. Maybe one of you mods (hint) that is interested in this would find a place where we can make this a sticky and keep it updated. |

i just hate paying 45$ for a piece of interior trim.
also, any clue what they do with all the wheels? |

a minor point of clarification. mods only have mod rights in their own forum. feel free to pm a mod for the forum that you want something done. I 'think' you can specify that you want a post to be a sticky when you intially start it.
Jess is the only admin. Admins have rights across the entire board.

a guy i work w/ used to work at u-pull in tigard before they had their major overhaul. He says they throw them all in a bin to be sold for the weight. They typically save some of the more wanted sets that are in good condition.
There is a 95 Trans Am in the Tigard U-pull right now that is for sale for the whole car for 1500. I'd buy it up, just has minor front end damage (I havent popped the hood so i dont know if the frame is bent or whatever). It has a LT1 in it, and I THINK a 6 speed, but I cant remember. It is black, t-tops. Interior looked in good condition. I'd pick it up to part it out, and keep the trans and alum. driveshaft if I had the money. |
