Both engines have the same type of rear main seal right? It would be disappointing if you got it all apart and then couldn't complete the swap because your flywheel won't bolt to the new engine. _________________ 84 Camaro Z28 - LS1/T56

No, sorry. Didn't mean to insinuate that.
Are you looking to do the entire swap at their shop, or just steal the hoist and use it at James'? |

One more thing to check. Are the dipsticks on the same side?
I ran into this problem on the 327. Sb's before 78 had the dipstick on the drivers side after that on the passenger side. If you are still using exhaust manifolds and not headers the drivers side dipstick won't work.
Well.. it kinda does.. you have to crush it to the head with the exhaust manifold then it will get so hot that you'll burn a loop into your hand when you check the oil.
Also not all heads have the 7th exhaust manifold bolt hole in them. 3d gen manifolds use that hole.
Both of these problems will be corrected with headers... Just don't know if you allready have them or not. |

I don't think we will have any issues with this swap. If something isn't quite right initially, it will be corrected in the near future. I'm leaving everything as is and will have time to change out the manifold, carb, dizzy, fuel pump, and ect. as time permits. I'll definately appreciate pointers and help as I progress on this project. Thanks all! _________________
