|
|
I know what an iacs purpose is, and what it physically does but I want to know what each pin does, I'm guessing 2 grounds with the key on and 2 voltages to energize the coils? Problem I'm having is that my iac step count baselines at 52 and will not go lower, which I'm guessing is why its not closing, signal from the ecm is what I'm thinking issue, or the wires plugged into it. the iac has full range of movement but when I ran a datalog it looked lazy, baselined at 52, as far as datalogs go what value should the iac be operating at? I've heard 0-200, is the low number going to be with the pintle fully extended? And a side question what voltages should the pins be putting out on the connector? This issue is very weird to me, and apparently nobody has seen it before
I'm losing my mind on this one _________________ If you expect a kick to the balls and get a slap to the face its still a victory

Two coils one moves the pintle in the other moves the pintle out.
What do you mean the steps are "baselined?" That doesn't make any sense to me. With tuning you can set it to zero if you want.
0-50 is a good idle number. That really means if you increase idle with the set screw, counts will go down.... and vice versa. _________________ A redline a day keeps the carbon away! |

I was just running a datalog before, by baseline I mean with the engine warm it wouldn't drop below 52, Luke gave me stuff to run my own tune so I'm messing with that now, would 0 have the iac fully extended? The basic tune says max is 191 steps where should I set my iac at? Probably a stupid question but I'm doing this by trial and error at this point _________________ If you expect a kick to the balls and get a slap to the face its still a victory

IAC runs differently depending on what the engine is doing. It's way more than just for idle.
I have a hard time telling you to play with the tune, if this is an intermittent issue.
0 = IAC closed - no air flow. _________________ A redline a day keeps the carbon away! |

its no longer intermittent, it would happen every once in a blue moon before but id just beat the throttle and it went away, probly once every couple of months, now every time i start the car (with the exception of the reset procedure) the tach is at 2k rpms, by the datalog its saying 1800ish, so tachs not accurate but 2k is still too freakin high lol _________________ If you expect a kick to the balls and get a slap to the face its still a victory

And if 0 is closed then when I reset it I'm at 0, then when I start it again it doesn't go any lower than 52, which is it being open and essentially making a huge vac leak, when I plugged it by hand it idled normal, I just don't know what's causing it to trip out on me _________________ If you expect a kick to the balls and get a slap to the face its still a victory
