I pulled into my driveway this afternoon, got out of the car and shut the door, and the horn started up and wouldn't quit. After unlocking the door and climbing back in, I popped the horn button off the wheel and the horn stopped. After playing around with the contacts, I found one of the mushroomed studs that hold the lower contact on had broken and allowed the contact to lift and touch the other contact.

The stud on the lower left has lost its mushroomed cap

Easy fix, I heated up the flat of a screwdriver with my butane solder iron (minus tip) and applied the flat to what was left of the stud, mushrooming it over the contact.

No more loose contact.

This is probably temporary and may be time to invest in an aftermarket steering wheel....

That's all GM did to install those.

If you want another RS wheel to swap in I will trade you for mine. I could give a s*** less about a horn, I just pass people. Razz

I like my horn. I make it very clear if someone pisses me off.
