I'll post more in a build topic later but here's the long and short of the question:

Siemens-Deka injectors are too short for the L36 rails.

I am a dumbass for not noticing this earlier (like three years ago, for instance Razz).

They seal up but can be made to leak under pressure if you finagle them a bit.

The fuel rail is not cast, it's just bent steel tubes with mounting tabs spot-welded on.

The easiest solution I can think of is to shorten the tabs. Would I be better to cut and reweld them? Or heat them with the torch, flatten them, and rebend them a bit shorter?

This is what I'm working with:

I would simply heat and enhance the dogleg shape of the rail supports.

Doing that, you should be able to make the supports shorter and still maintain the relative placement of the mounting bolts. Hopefully you don't have to go too far since doing this will change the relationship between the top and bottom injector bungs and take them slightly out of line with each other.

Cutting and welding is a lot more trouble. Wink

Shouldn't have to go more than 3/16". The injectors seal now under full pump pressure (that's right kids, I put gas in the Camaro today! Very Happy) but they can be "made" to leak by pushing them down into the intake as far as they will go.

Should work out fine if you just bend them a little. Keep an eye on injector angle in the bungs though.

Yep. However you can get em down. You're more worried about leaking boost. Injectors are going to be forced up to the fuel rail more than vacuum and gravity pulling them down.
