NO. Early (80's - mid 90's) Cherokee is what you'd be looking for. Not a Grand Cherokee. Most of the Grand Cherokees have a steering shaft that has a smaller diameter joint that slips onto the upper steering column shaft, therefore will not fit. The regular Cherokees fit like charm. _________________ Richmond 3.73 posi| 36/24 sway bars | SLP LM2 | Koni's | Ground Control 800/200 | Y2K wheels | Dyno Don headers & Y-pipe | airfoil | BBK underdrive pulleys | Raised strut mounts | Extended ball joints | LCARB'S

The Square Cherokee's before the mid 90's switch uses the exact same Saginaw steering column as the thirdgen.
When I say ExAcT.... I mean I used parts from a spare thirdgen one to get an '87 Cherokee column back in shape. _________________ A redline a day keeps the carbon away! |

I've read also that some Astro intermediate shafts are different lengths than others. I pulled one today from Budget Auto Wrecking in Auburn for $25. It came out of a '98 AWD Astro van and appears to be long enough to fit without lengthening. The upper u-joint is definitely going to require re-clocking. _________________ 1988 GTA, 5.3/T56 in the works. |
