| Maybe it's her strategy to make sure no other women are interested in you. Brilliant idea if you think about it. Just stay away from mountain goats during mating season. |

Lmao. It wont be a project, it just needs a suspension, wheels, tires, exhaust and window tint! Most people would consider anyone of those a "project" |

Why on earth would you pay 30K cash on a car?
If I had 30K laying around and wanted to buy a car, there is no question about it, I would finance it with about 50% down. Then pay it off in about 12 months.
Why?
Because money is a tool, and as such it is only valuable if you use it wisely. Making a major purchase on credit will give you positive credit, that will allow you to make other large purchases at lower interest rates. Your credit score will determine whether or not you can buy a 300K house, and if you can it will determine how much interest you pay on it. Spend this 30K wisely, and you can easily save 30K on your mortgage. That's like getting the car for free at the tail end of the mortgage.
Spending cash on a car is no different than spending it all on Mickey Mouse suckers. It may not be rocket science, but there is more to it than writing a check.
For real though, nice car. _________________ Killing mailboxes since 2009 |

ok gents, this was a nice Christmas thread. Let's keep it civil. You can use private messages or share phone numbers to have a nice chat about how to make your money, how to spend it etc. if you like but let's keep it nicey nice on the boards.
thanks!

I think you underestimate his situation. Spending $30K is a very serious decision for some people. It's not so serious for others. It's all relative to what you can afford to do.
If I want to know how to pinch pennies then I get best advice from a poor person. If I want to know how to become wealthy then I get best advice from a rich person. The two don't operate or think the same way and likely don't even understand each other's priorities. |

To bring this back on topic to cars, here is an interesting fact: I got this from a study done in 1996.... The majority of American millionaires drive American made cars and only a minority drive the current model year.
Well, we've all got that one nailed. Now what do we do next??? |
