|
|
So being my first day off in a while I wanted to get the heads onto the motor then it occurred to me that the cylinders were bored .30 over, the felpro gaskets I had would not fit, they hung over the cylinder wall and that didn't sit well with me, I had another set laying around that came with my summit parts and it looks good but I'm not 100% sure and just need some advice on it
Here's a couple pictures

So your 350 is bored .030 over so it's now 4.030
Most head gasket bores are 4.1"
That's why it's a factory in compression ratio. _________________ A redline a day keeps the carbon away! |

So im good to go then? Lol I just found it off the felpro ones had a smaller diameter and I figured havvong a gasket hanging over the wall would be a bad idea _________________ If you expect a kick to the balls and get a slap to the face its still a victory

Yep your fine.
Is your block decked?
If not, I'd recommend ditching those thick ones and getting some .015 shim gaskets coated with copper coat.
You want the top of the piston to be 0.040" away from the deck of the head ideally. _________________ A redline a day keeps the carbon away! |

Bowtie blocked the deck for me so I should be golden, I'm just tinkering right now until I can get the gauges and get into the real fun part of the project lol _________________ If you expect a kick to the balls and get a slap to the face its still a victory

| If you have a couple hundred in the budget go with the thin MLS gaskets and bump the CR. |

Couple hundred? Shim gaskets are cheap, dude. The can of CopperCoat costs as much as they do. |

Hmm... well what are my options right now to squeeze the power outta this thing? I believe bowtie told me its at a stock compression right now? I've never looked into the pros and cons of a higher ratio _________________ If you expect a kick to the balls and get a slap to the face its still a victory
