Due to the jokes in the craigslist post, heres my latest work. Not as cool as ians hovercraft
For you lowered people with LCA brackets. My lca's are still not level, they sit at an upangle still, and set on lowest bracket How are yours sitting? _________________ 2008 GMC Z71

I don't understand... the lower the control arm is mounted under the axle the steeper the angle up to the car. What did I miss? |

Your LCA's should be level to the ground, or slightly lower at the axle end from my readings.
So when you lower the car, you tip the lca up higher on the axle end. To put it back to level or tipped down, you install these. |

| Dont forget squat. Literally. Unless youve done something tricky, your car will squat on a launch. If your bars are level with the road they will now be pointed to the ground. |

Travis, I think were talking backwards on angle.
heres best diagram I can do with keystrokes.....
body / axle before
body / axle still (not as bad)
body \ axle advised for hard launch
body - axle advised for standard use |

You sometimes get what you get. My car is also low enough, that the axle side of the LCA is also slightly higher than the front. Ideally it would be a smidge lower (not much though, since you induce roll-steer with it lower). Your anti-squat numbers are effected by the height of the IC though.
Drive it, and if it feels alright, run with it. |

I've noticed that all the off the shelf LCARB's only lower to arms of a maximum of 2". I'm buying a mig welder soon and will see what I can do about making myself a set that are lower _________________ Richmond 3.73 posi| 36/24 sway bars | SLP LM2 | Koni's | Ground Control 800/200 | Y2K wheels | Dyno Don headers & Y-pipe | airfoil | BBK underdrive pulleys | Raised strut mounts | Extended ball joints | LCARB'S

| I agree Dewey, you get what you get. Ive been driving lowered camaros for almost 10 years w/o these. So it may feel weird now!! Oddly enough, Ive never had wheel hop either. |

No wheel hop? Maybe you need more traction.
If you lower the bracket too much do you increase the leverage the axle has on the arms? Seems as if the axle will push forward (rotating forward) when the arm gets dropped down and could possibly upset the torque arm mount. Thoughts? |

Up to lately, I would have agreed with you Travis. But these tires I have now just grip n go!!
Also, the axle will be rotating backwards, thus lifting up and way from the trans mount.... unless your worried about heavy braking power?
I do have an aftermarket tq arm which is fairly solid, and I plan to brace it more some day. |

| Having proper dampening from the shocks makes a HUGE amount of difference in wheel hop. I think it has more of an effect than the LCA angle does. The anti-squat value change from the LCA angle is not all that significant. Its a tangent function of the height of the IC and lenght of the torque arm SVSA length. Even with a less than optimal A/S value, with proper spring dampening, wheel-hop shouldn't be an issue. |

| Home made ones I had done atleast 5 years ago. They are made of aluminum, ES bushings, and a hand picked length bolt. I had them made to attempt to correct the geometry of the swaybar. But now they are tipped at quite an angle. I need to weld n drill front control arms. Then make custom rear brackets. |

Got it on the ground. Looks like the axle end is slightly lower, but not by much at all.
No driving on it yet. |
