I will add this to your cost list: transmission and axle. The very first time you hook up, BOOM! I will make sure i video my first wot run when i put my track tires on. The big block should be about the same amount of torque your turbo small block will put out. Hehe.

Ya, I knew tranny and rear end where toast. Thats why I have decided to build for a high hp motor and then if I go turbo, all then I have to do is spend money on turbo specific parts

And remember that a motor built for a Turbo is going to run like a 70's emissions pig without a turbo.

We will see how much i can squeeze out of an emissions pig.

At least turbo to na is just a cam swap away. Damn bump sticks. I will say this to the $1k project build, if all you run is 7-10 psi, you probably dont need an intercooler. And a blow through holley is easier than you think. Upside down manifolds, repurposed carb, all you really need are the turbos, valves, and fuel delivery. And a couple extra engines laying about.

I don't know much about turbos, but I think someone told me to pack the inside of the pistons full of peanut butter. Creamy, not chunky.

Mmm, creamy pb....

Id say just boost it and find out. It seems to be a general rule that most engines will handle a measly 7-10 psi without blowing the manifold welds.

Aaay! That's from the other thread!

Razz

Also, chunky peanut butter is the way to go. Real chunky peanut butter with oil, no Jif hydrogenated BS.
