Why do people not run them in the passenger compartment?

Seems like the logical place to do it. Rear brake line runs right past the driver.

Because all the brake lines are on the outside of the car :O)

The ones that do are road racers/drifters/motorsports guys that need/want to adjust the rear brakes on a fairly regular basis. The average joe gearhead is going to set it, test it, set it and then run it for the pretty much the life of the car.

Ian's right. Why add more knobs in places they're likely to be twiddled when they definitely do not need regular twiddling?

Wait till till you have a wife and kids, you dont want to have anything they can control.

For instance, this can happen.

I'm not so sure about that Dave. We all know Aaron will never own a bmw 5 series. Very Happy

I cringe whenever I see that picture.

Looking at that picture is like watching someones limb get bent backwards. Hurts just thinking about it.

This is absolutely true. Were I to fall over to the Germanic side I would be looking for one with "the hot bit in the back" or if I went with a Beemer I would want a nice old 2002. Wink

Back to the topic at hand: I was thinking of attaching it down low between the drivers seat and the transmission tunnel. Out of sight of anyone not sitting in the drivers seat looking down past their leg.

I was also debating running two valves inline; one dial and one lever. That way I could fine-tune with the dial but still quickly slap the lever down if I suddenly decided I wanted no rears for any particular reason. Very Happy

Bear in mind that I am not running a center console, nor will there be any carpet going over the tunnel (just in the footwells).

Doh! You're right, I forgot about running a line lock.

But I still like the idea of running the prop valve under the driver's seat.

Apparently we can't talk you out of it.

Aaron's gonna do what Aaron's gonna do.

Alternatively: What goes on in Aaron's car, stays in Aaron's car. Wink

If you really want to adjust them, why not get some balance-bar equiped pedals (or as chris would say..petals), then you can adjusta away till you realize that you don't drive hard enough long enough on the street to need to adjust your brake bias.
