I joined on here a few years ago IIRC when I had a 3rd gen T/A. I sold the Trans Am and we moved back to Arizona briefly. We moved back to WA about 9 months ago.
Anyways, I have a disease. I just bought my 8th 3rd gen (I don't own 8, I have had 8 total in the past).
You may have seen it on CL. It's a 91 Z28 (91-92 Z's have always been my favorite), LB9/5speed car. It's rough around the edges cosmetically, but the drive train is strong. It came with about 6k worth of receipts just from the past 2 years. Trans/Clutch is brand new. It has Spohn control arms/sway bars. It handles nice!
It came with some interesting 17s that I plan on selling and probably replacing with stockers. Anyone have any 91-92 Z wheels for sale locally? Also, does anyone here do body work? I am not a body man. It has a nice crack in the pass. side rear 1/4, and the pass door has some damage as well (might be easier to replace the door).
It's something I can wrench on and give love to while still driving daily.

Yeah, that was Hielor's Z28. I don't know if he was the craigslist seller or if there is another guy between you and him, but I almost bought that car a few months back. _________________ 84 Camaro Z28 - LS1/T56

That's pretty cool that this was a members car at one point, the guy I bought it from wasn't the member.
It definitely still is a project. But I hope over time I can give it the love that it needs. It seems to be a solid foundation. I have the folder of receipts from the member who owned it. Nothing for the suspension though which I was hoping would be in there. _________________ 91 Z28 |

Well. It's a true third gen. Stopped by autozone on the way home from work (Because you know, that is a nightly ritual when you own one) and when I went to leave she didn't want to start.
I'm not really sure what the deal was, but it was acting like it wasn't getting fuel. It would fire, sputter and die. It took me a good 15-20 minutes to get it fired up. I sure hope the fuel pump isn't about to die. I sourced some seats from a 4th gen bird that I was going to pick up and toss in this weekend, but I'm going to hold off if the car is going to start acting up already.
Ah. Just like the good old days. _________________ 91 Z28 |

Hey, I remember that car. Gabe almost bought it before he bought this silly thing.
Did anybody ever put an interior back in it?
How is the fuel pressure? |

Interior is half there, I have all the pieces to put it back together but some of the pieces aren't in the best shape, so I am keeping my eyes open for a little bit of everything.
Haven't had a chance to check FP. _________________ 91 Z28 |

Nice! Bringing it back to stock. They are 16" BTW, not 15" as the ad states. They didn't make "Mini-me" versions of the '91 - '92 Z28 wheel, only dual vane IROC wheels. _________________ '86 Trans Am - 5.0L TPI - LT1 cam - 700R4 - WS6

That's what I thought too. Now I'm having a dilemma, brand new ZR1s for 434.00 and I can use the tires I have and just sell the wheels, or the stickers and have to spend about the same as the ZR1s on tires.
I may end up going with the ZR1s, I always thought they looked great on a 3rd gen. _________________ 91 Z28 |
