Had windows open and closed.

33" tires fit with the sway bar ON with 2" coil springs spacers and a 1" body lift. If you lift the body 1" you need to build a 1" motor mount spacer and then I built the transfercase/trans mount skid plate to eliminate the shovel and lift it 1" also to keep the shifters all aligned since they mount to the body.

If you take the sway bar off, 33x12.5 tires will rub a FULL crazy articulation with my wheel config. You cannot run 12.5" wide tires without 1.25" wheel adapters.

Cool.. so my plan should work. 2" coil spacers and longer shocks with current tires until they wear out, then probably 32s.

You did your own Tummy Tuck then. Last jeep I looked at had one on it too. That stock skid definately hangs low.

Did you use longer sway bar links? I see its recommended with the suspension lift. Thinking a set of quick disconnects would be cool if I gotta change them too. I guess they didnt put the electric disconnects on the 03 rubi's. Not sure what year they started that.

My tires are kinda narrow right now. Stock size 245/75R16s. Pretty aggressive though. I see good things said about them on the wrangler board. I've yet to try them out though. Pleasantly surprised they dont ride too bad. The sidewalls are double thick and kevlar reinforced.

Sorry for all the questions.. I did slip some 3d gen stuff in here somewhere though LOL

Don't need to change anything with 2" coil lift. Not even stocks.

If this is going to be a driver and only really see the freeway, some crappy backroads and the snow, then those are a perfect size. The only time you will run into trouble is if you get into mud with nothing under it.

I imagine it will be years before I wear these tires out.

Shocks are from mother mopar with lots of miles on them. So need to be changed anyway. Basically maintenance item, but if i'm going to add spacers might as well optimize their length.

Point was the 2" lift doesn't need longer shocks. The stock ones move properly for that lift. You hit bump stop and other articulation binds before the shocks become an issue.

An update. Installed 2" lift kit, took the hardtop off tonight and then installed the soft top. I got lucky and found a brand new set of tinted windows and door surrounds on craigs for $110!! Still in the mopar boxes even. I still have a set of new monotube shocks to install too, but only 2 of them came today.

Pics of course..
