Has anybody ever dealt with transporting a car cross country? For example: from Georgia to Oregon? What companies are out there and what kind of cost would be involved?

I have. North Carolina to Washington. It was many years ago, though. Paid for an enclosed trailer and the car showed up filthy dirty, down on fuel, and the ignition timing knob turned all the way up. Somebody joy rode it. I got them to return some of the money. And even though it did ride in an enclosed trailer, it sat in a parking lot outside for a week waiting to be transferred to another truck.

Ever since then I have transported cars myself. Instead of paying somebody else I put the same money in a trailer that I own. Or I buy a plane ticket and drive the car back.

Many years ago a friend of mine used some company and transported a kit lambo. Some how one of the doors fell off while transporting. Last I knew he had still not gotten a door, or cash from them.

Ya. I wouldn't trust them unless they highly recommended and specialize in vehicle transport. But then that comes with a price

Twisted Evil Shhh

And I'm not looking for a daily driver. I've actually been working on the GTI lately. Wait, crap. I'm giving away all my surprises.
