I bought a new third gen only its not an F-Body.. Car sat for a little over a year. Had alot of little issues, most of them have been worked out. At least the cheap ones.
Very Happy

Which looks a lot like the '61 corvette mako concept....if only pontiac would stop ripping off chevy.

we have been over this many times, the production car in '63 along with the '59 concept and the '61 concept did WAY more for the looks of the later corvettes than the pontiac concept did. Didn't we sit down and look a heaps of concept pictures and drawings on the C2 and C3 cars at one point?

Just look at the 61 mako... it does not look like either a c3 or the pontiac. The 65 mako looks just like it though.

Please.... you see all the styling changes that went into the C2's and got carried over to the C3 cars. The high fenders, the center hoodline that went into the C2's, the tail lights. How about a shot of the back of that pontiac?

Not to mention that corvette was going that direction with the cars as far back as '59.

I know, its hard to beleive that anyone other than pontiac every did anything, but I also know that GM planned model years far enough in advance that no '64 conecpt was the starting point for the C3 platform in 68.

That Pontiac looks like an Opel GT. My dad had one when I was a kid. Yellow with a black asymmetrical racing stripe. That was a cool car! Cool

Arent those Jetsons era concepts awesome!

I see the "official" (as from the corvette forums) word is that Delorean saw the c3 design sketches and built his car before chevy got there's into reality. So while the banshee was the first real version of the car, the design was stolen off of corvette paperwork.

Is corvette still a chevrolet? or have they become their own brand finally?
