So, havent been posting much as the past 3-4 weeks have been mad crazy with photography, and a new female in my life Smile Shes lived in a state where a car and DL was not needed, moved here and has been working on getting her DL and a car. Well this weekend we went n picked her up a 97 318I. NEEDS alot of love, but I know several of you here own similar cars. Looking for forums which Travis has been helping me on, but maybe some of you can help here.

Main things it needs, Ignition switch, radiator, brakes(all4), struts. Then today I noticed a cable going to something in the air stream that looks like it needs fixed.

WTF is this cable going to? So I know what cable I need, lol.

Which cable? The cruise control or what looks like traction control?

I like BMWs Not a huge fan of the little motor though. Laughing Looks really clean though!

crusie cable needs replaced, I know that.

I have no clue what that other thing is going to what looks like another throttle body.

Yes, the body is fairly clean for what looks like orginal paint, and a 97.

I know beans about these newer Beemers, but do they have the silly trap-door air meter in them like the old BMW's did?

Mmm, schwarz. The only color to have an e36 in. Have you tried Pelican?

http://www.pelicanparts.com/

They have many write ups on doing stuff of BMW's. Pretty handy actually. That broken cable looks like cruise control.

Vane air flow? A lot of them have it but I thought they did away with that with the e36. Not sure what year they all went to mass air flow though.

I presumed since she had no car before that she may not be proficient in driving a stickshift and wanted an automatic? It's a manual trans then?
