John and I installed a Flowmaster Super 40 today on the Berli where the cat used to be. Someone else was there who deserves props but didn't want his name mentioned. Wink Anyways, it's very loud. Smile

Yes, someone didn't want any credit for that job! Laughing And yes, that Super 40 is LOUD! It sounds awesome at idle, but the drive back to Renton was hellish! Evil or Very Mad

Did you just end after the muffler or go all the way back?

I wouldn't want the muffler to end right there either. I drove my car with an open y-pipe for a few weeks and it was deafeningly loud. (of course)

What time did you get into Renton, and did you go by the ampm. ? I may have heard it.

It wouldn't be nearly as loud to you while driving if you ran the exhaust out the back of the car.

Back when I had the 99 mustang I had the y-pipe break off where the passenger side manifold dumped into it.

When the defrost is on, the A/C compressor is used to dry the air. The water condensates on the evaporator and drips down and out of a vent. Ford was clever enough to position that vent directly above the weld on the exhaust. So one morning on the way to work I get about 5 miles from home and I can hear a pinging sound. The sound grew progressively louder as I drove. Just outside of the gate it snapped clean off and unleashed the horrible sound of half a V6 at the manifold. I was lucky that the gate sentry was kind and let me on base.
