Anyone here set up for programming?
I need to put the rev limiter back in before I blow the motor up. I looked down today and the needle was buried deep DEEP in the red.

Isn't it a 700R4? Did it just decide not to shift? Laughing

yes it's a 700r4 I guess it did decide not to shift. I don't know why that would have been, but in the mean time I am looking for that safety net.

Cause if I have to say anything that rhymes with stuff slipping, I'm gonna cry. Sad

Are you sure the revs are accurate? The 90-92 tachs are known for going bunk and reading way high...ask me how I know.

No I'm not sure of it at all.
That thought had occurred to me. I unplugged the TPS yesterday to move the TB out of the way, forgot to plug it back in, tach read over 3K idle. It didn't really sound that high though.
So no, I am not sure it was as high as it read today, but it scared me a little. I don't want to blow the motor up, and f I spend much more money on it the spousal unit will be holding an estate sale.

Actually, I'm pretty sure it isn't accurate. It was reading 2500 RPM but the car was slowing with the foot off the gas. . .at 20 MPH per GPS.

I have a feeling the tach is off, and you weren't yet even revving the new girl up yet...

It is pretty easy to do, I would pull the gauge cluster, and ohm the tach circuit (I think I made a thread with the info in it somewhere on here). You will probably need to do the same resiter fix I did to get it to read accuractly.

I noticed that tach seemed way high when you were at my place.

I would figure out the ratios and watch it.

Also, if the tranny fluid is low again it will cause a late shift, so keep an eye on that.
