From what I have read, you can not use them on a computer controlled engine. Dunno which way your going.

Waste of money to go gear drive.

A good Cloyes double roller is all ya need unless you're talking big time drag race stuff.

I was thinking a gear drive would be fun but apparently the crank harmonics get transferred through it and that in turn goes into the cam. The chains are supposed to be better. Or belt.

Gear drive will make you insane with the whining noise. I once had a Pete Jackson "quiet" drive. That's a joke. It was loud as heck. Couldn't wait to remove it. And that was when I was just a young lad and liked loud car noises.

If you want the noise, just empty the power steering fluid from the reservoir Very Happy

Used a gear drive once. Cost me a very expensive engine! Go chain or BELT!

Im thinking about going belt on this next one but not sure yet!

Chain. Unless you're spinning serious RPM's every time its running, a Dual roller won't do you wrong.

Gear drive is actually not as strong as a good chain or belt. Believe it or not a belt is the strongest.
