|
|
I've been hunting for an F body accessory drive because I thought that was the only setup that fits a 3rd gen. I come to find out today that a Corvette accessory drive fits no problem. Is that entirely true? It just drops in as easy as F-body?
Corvette style would be so much better! I would have access to all the used goodies that Corvette owners take off when they are bored with stuff like superchargers. |

Corvette aircon hits k-member IIRC.
Might be other issues as well. |

I was just going to ask whether you planned on keeping a/c... _________________

Yes, I will have A/C again at some point.
F body A/C hits K-member, too. Is the Corvette worse? I have a BMR K-member right now so F body won't hit at all. |

I recall hearing Corvette aircon hits worse than f-body aircon.
Possibly interference with steering as well? Can't recall very well. I quickly discounted using the Vette setup when I read about it for some reason. _________________ 84 Camaro Z28 - LS1/T56

| I did too, but I just had somebody at thirdgen.org say it fit fine with stock steering and then he posted pictures of his engine bay to prove it. |

Do you have a link to the thread on TGO? I would like to see the pictures. _________________ 84 Camaro Z28 - LS1/T56

Jesus, tell him to get down out of the rafters of his shop so he can take some real pictures.
You'll have to confirm that the BMR k-member is not any wider front to rear vs. the Spohn he's running.
Also, no aircon in that car. |

At least we know the alternator fits... It would be nice if he had better pictures of the common interference issues. I had heard of issues with hitting the steering box with a Vette setup. Wonder why he doesn't have that problem?
Sweet setup: LSx, Vette accessories, tubular k-member, rack-and-pinion swap. Woo! It fits! _________________ 84 Camaro Z28 - LS1/T56

Pansies. I asked for you.
He said he has stock steering. The picture is obviously part way through the build and he was setting up for A/C. |

| You can see the top of the factory steering box in one of the pics, barely. |
