Me too but my original hatch got shattered so I had to get a 90s style hatch unless someone has an 89 hatch with a working light lol

Or if you've got a tac-welder and some experience that would be the most preferred Laughing the job I do now can be some-what temporary but would need to last for a while.

You don't need a welder, when I deleted my antenna I used sealer to prevent rust on the hole, then fiberglassed from the bottom of the fender hole, then sanded the fiberglass smooth then used body filler over the top and smoothed that into the lines of the fender.

Can't even tell my fender ever had an antenna mount. This is the route we're probably gonna go on doing a spoiler delete on a friend's car before paint as well.

I've also done the welding a patch under the hole and using body filler on top way, I personally would do fiberglass every time over welding.

I've never worked with fiberglass, or body work for that matter. That's where I'd need some guidance, but you can teach me how to fish Very Happy

I'm doing the same thing, I got lucky and the high rise that bob had is the same color as my car. So I bought it off Bruce and I'm not sure if I have the time to put it on before I take off, or if I'll have to wait until after I get back.

I've done a bit, probably not as much as some of the other members on here. This is from the first time I painted my car back in high school when I first got it. I've done a fair amount of bodywork, bondo, fiberglass, paint prep and painting. Gonna repaint my car this fall again.

HOLY BONDO BATMAN!

I normally try to bang out the dents as much as possible and put a layer of duraglass over it then shave it down, i normally have a small layer of glass over it as little as possible except for filling holes with lol im still toying around with mixture up here though, it used to be alot easier in az with 0 humidity so i could mix alot at once but now i just do little bits and mix as i go

id have no problem helpin you out, itd be awesome to come back to oak harbor i used to live in little valley up on SR20 about a mile before you get to the drive in

Yeah, it needed it... As you can see the body line took a beating while it was parked. That was stage one of body filler applied by a 17 year old me. Razz I did smooth all the dents as close as I could get them before I applied any bondo, there's no filler that's more than just barely a thin layer to smooth the surface in (like you're supposed to do). That pic was before it was sanded. Better to have too much than too little.

Duraglass is for deeper dents that you can't just smooth with bondo, it still is supposed to have a normal filler over the top of it as well. Bondo can crack if it's too thick, Duraglass generally won't crack as easily but it is difficult to sand and blend well. Hence why you Duraglass then smooth with Bondo on top. None of my dents were deep enough to require anything more than a little bangin' and some Bondo.

It was completely straight after I got done with it, but the rednecks who owned it before me ran the lawnmower into it a few times. I suppose that's what you get when you buy a cheap roller with zero rust and 60k miles that sat in someone's front yard for years and years. Laughing

Sorry I didn't get back to you in a timely manner, I dont think I'll have time to do this before I leave this week. Only option I could think of is if you did it while I was gone and dropped the car back off at my house Laughing I don't know how long it would take but I'd be willing to devote the rest of my free time for it. I get off around 3p.m. and don't mind driving to you. I will P.M. you my number incase you're interested.

If you filling holes, what I did to my antenna and my rear wiper, is I took a piece of aluminum flashing and jb welded it underneath, then duraglass( I prefer it over bondo) I usually try to sand it smooth enough for either then glazing putty or some lightwiegth bondo. But the end result with my black paint is you can't see it. Only things afteer all my body work you can see are door dings, which ticks me off cause I coulnt see them with primer and could only feel half of them.
