|

Well my car has eaten the sending unit above the oil filter, its leaking out at a pretty steady pace, i had a horrbile oil leak 1. Cuz jiffy lube sucks at life and put a filter on with a gouge in the seal and 2 apparently i didnt see the leaky switch, ive been told they leak internally and its time to get this thing out and swapped couple questions
1. How the hell do i get to it? i tried getting a set of channel locks up there with no luck....
2. Dumb but im asking anyway: I dont need to drain the oil do i? All the oil sits in the pan but i dont want an oil shower to be honest

At it's very base the unit will have a spot to slip an open end wrench over.
Jiffy Lube brings the suck. If you can install car alarms you should change your own oil. |

They make a special socet to take the opsu out. But you can do it with the right size wrench, or channel locks like you said.
That style leaks very easy and often. Ive changed mine to the one wire metal ones. But it bypasses the oil/fuel safety setup. |

I was being lazy lol lesson learned I tried getting.a wrench.on there but the swing was short as hell, ive done this once before and I cant remember how I did it, I think I spent a long time on it too lol
Would there be any harm in busting the plastic pressed part off and just getting the metal with a socket? This one I bought is shorter so the socket can go on and off easily, the one on the car is too long and I cant get the socket on _________________ If you expect a kick to the balls and get a slap to the face its still a victory
