Was under my car today and discovered that the brake rotors are rusting away from underneath the inside pad. Right now there's only about a 1" wide band down the center of the pad that is touching. So I'm looking to upgrade to better rotors/pads. I don't want to do a size upgrade. Just get premium parts to fit stock style brakes. Right now I'm using Napa's best ceramic pad and theyve worked excellently so far. I wouldnt mind a bit more bite though if possible. Summit now sells 2 different drilled/slotted rotors for the car. One they call extreme performance and it says they're cnc machined out of premium cast iron for perfect balance and performance. The other is ultimate performance, they're slightly more and are zinc washed. They dont mention the cnc machining. The holes are chamfered and the slots are diamond slots. Summit also offers an Ultimate performance ceramic pad, and the whole Ultimate performance package.. I'm leaning towards this at the moment.

However, several companies such as Hawk, EBC, Powermaster, and Baer offer pads for our cars as well. Some have several options.

Anybody have experience with these? Anybody read good or bad about any of them. I'd like the best of everything! Laughing You know.. no dust, no noise, long wearing and serious bite! But I know it doesnt happen that way. What comes close?

When I swapped my pads in favor of EBCs redstuff I noticed a huge difference in braking power. I haven't checked them to see how they're wearing but I've put atleast 6,000 miles on them so far and couldn't be happier.

I use the HPS pads. Work good. Better than stock. I am not a fan of drilled or slotted rotors. It's new technology for old shizzle.

Ya. The drilled/slotted isnt my favorite idea either. But it seems to be the only way to get a real quality piece anymore. These regular ones seem to have this "delamination" like rust problem i'm having now. For the life of me I can't understand how something that is constantly rubbed by the brake pad can rust so bad it flakes away and then cant be touched by said pad.

I just havea plain set of stock style rotors, but I'm using a set of performance friction carbon ceramic pads. They are awesome as far as I'm concerned.

I ran ebc reds on the c5s and my current c6z stuff. Been happy with very, very lttle dust. I was going to try either hawk or yellows for the next go around.
