if you weld an oxygen sensor straight to the exhaust then will it still function correctly? what % chance will it work alright?

and is the bend at the bottom of the engine too far to put the oxygen sensor?

There are these little things called a "bung" that you weld to the pipe. Then you can screw in the O2 sensor. Better yet, you can screw out the O2 sensor. That's always a useful feature.

To answer your question... If you weld directly on the sensor I would not trust it even if it still was able to somehow manage a reading.

lol i looked for a bung but autozone didnt have one and lowes didnt have a big enough nut. i had a new sensor with no threads on it so i gave it a shot. i put it at the beginning of the y-pipe on the drivers side. is that close enough to not need a heated sensor?

it defently runs alot better. it has smoother acceleration and it idles good more often than not. it idles good after 190*. Would the beginning of the y-pipe be too far away to burn anything off with a cold engine?

my air filter was unbelieveably dirty so i also threw a new one of those on!
