anyone have any experience with one of these?
I'm about to head over to his place to look at it. Says it wasn't throwing any codes but was idling horribly, now it just cranks, and doesn't fire.
some preliminary research indicates that the DPFE is a common problem on these. The thing has about 98K on it.
When I know more, I'll post again. _________________

| I was just messing with a 3.0L in a '93 Aerostar van, very rough idle. ended up being a few cracked out vacuum lines and one even popped off. DPFE is a common failure but check the EGR port too, they get clogged up. |

I have a '94 Taurus with the 3.0L Vulcan. Mine runs perfect with about 106k on it. Of course 70k of that was my Grandpa's driving. Except for having to change out the starter every 2-3 months and the heater core going out I haven't had any problems with it. BTW, it is for sale! _________________ '86 Trans Am - 5.0L TPI - LT1 cam - 700R4 - WS6

TFI car?
If so I'll bet you a nickel you could go over and start it right now.
If it won't start check for spark. Thick film was a horrific idea, Ford actually got sued over it IIRC. |

replaced all 6 plugs (couple electrodes were pretty much melted away).
Got it to fire. Seemed to run pretty okay, no codes.
I love it when its something simple..... _________________

| Mines got 189k on it in my b3000 truck. I from what I have read 300k is fairly common. |

I'm pretty sure mine has the original plugs. Wonder how much better it would run if I gave it a tune up?! Oh well, I'm selling it so the next owner can worry about that! _________________ '86 Trans Am - 5.0L TPI - LT1 cam - 700R4 - WS6
