Not alot of body help around other than bolting on panels.

What kind of mechanical work are you looking at?

What kind of body work do you need to do? I know a few things about body (can help with dents, fiberglass, paint etc.) and even more about mechanical, but I'm a good hour away from ya.

I am just about ready for paint. I just need to find a way to haul it to paint guy. I have most of body off it. So I would need a hand aligning panels. Mechanically. Where to start. It runs, and shifts. Actually motor sounds good. I have to get a new bracket for detent cable. Right now I have 882 heads , but am looking at getting some 416s . That is where my knowlege ends. I know how to take everything off but it is putting it all back where I have problems. I don't know how to do all the adjustments. Also I don't know how to determine what cam to go with heads and what else I should do while heads are off. I am on a semi tight budget, unless anybodys got some parts and needs some remodling done. I am thiinking heads because I am getting a lot of air in my cooling system. I also am hopefully buyiing new springs this weekend so with that I will need to replace shock, struts, bushings, etc. A lot of this stuff is as time and money allows but I really would like to at least get it road worthy so I can do some of these summertime cruises and attend some car shows.

Also thanks for the replies guys. Says a lot that people are willing to help out another. My dad died when I was 19 and I wished I payed more attention when I was a kid. He was a hotrod type of guy and was extremly mechanical. I am now 33 and got my first " hot rod" so I enjoy it a lot.
