Whoa that's big. Sorry guys! Laughing Been hearing some crazy poping in the front end and I think I've narrowed it down to control arm bushings that are SHOT. They were the PST polygraphite ones I put in the car when I got it ~7 years ago. I'll get some pictures when I swap out the arms. Anyways, I figured since I was there and the strut mounts I have are factory I might as well replace and upgrade them.

And since I hate red, I got the black ones. Smile

I bought the spohn ones. I never knew about the brand you ordered!

how long ago did you get them? I think the spohn ones have a bit more vertical difference from factory but these were hard to beat for the price.

Um, I think about 2 years ago? They do advertise that they have a deeper socket for the lowered cars.

$180ish after shipping. Not bad considering the competitors.

These are advertised as higher mounting points but I don't think they're as far up as spohns. Either way I'm happy. Very Happy

How high are spohns mountint point? Those don't look anywhere near as high as the Hunter Motorsports set that I have.

The spohns are almost exact duplicate of the HMS except steel.

Yes, but which version of the HMS ones. When Karl made the HMS mounts, you could get them in 3 different heights.

I'll have to measure sometime next week. I want to say, mine seem taller than that, but I'll measure and post a picture.

I'm not surprised by this. The strut itself is just a giant lever arm that get torqued every time you jam the brakes. Another reason stb's should have beefier bracing to the firewall. /tangent.

The top of mine are where the top of your bearing holder is(3.00 from mount surface). So I'm going to say about the same height overall.

Wow. I finally got around to putting these in. (When I did the control arm bushings I never checked my alignment afterwards and toasted my front tires with even more messed up toe...)

Put the mounts on today, new tires and alignment tomorrow. The car drives a TON different. I don't know if it's just me or the fact the struts are running a totally different height now but it feels much more bouncy and I think I gained another halfinch of ride height. I need new struts now. Sad

before;

after;

Maybe it's just in my head.
