I'm thinking on Sunday on our way through Astoria we could stop at the maritime museum. Maybe take a few pics of the cars in front of the coast pilot boat they have on display. I'm not sure if we can get in front of the main windows with the coast guard boat like we did with the spruce goose. Been a long time since i've gone through the museum too.

This is getting close. Here's what I have planned so far. Any other ideas please speak up.
Friday night I'll have pizza to cook for everyone. So dinners covered.
We'll be getting up early saturday morning with little time for breakfast. If someone can bring muffins/doughnuts etc that would be great. The Duck is within walking distance of the car show, so its possible to go there to eat after dropping off your car too.
Lunch will be at the car show. If you've entered your car it comes free with your entry. They'll have chicken or salmon.
Dinner after the show. Normally I bbq some salmon. It's usually much better then the car show salmon. Is this ok with everyone or do you have other ideas?
Sunday.. got some choices here. Historically we've gone to the Duck for breakfast then cut out for our cruise. We can do that. Or.. I'm thinking we cut straight out, catch the ferry to oregon. Then drive to Astoria. In Astoria we can go to the Wet Dog(Astoria Brewing Company) http://www.wetdogcafe.com/ and get lunch. There is crap for parking there. But I was planning on taking us to the Maritime Museum http://www.crmm.org/ We can line our cars up in front of the retired pilot boat display for pics. We can leave our cars in the museum lot and ride the waterfront trolley to the Wet Dog. Trolley costs a buck to ride.
After lunch and the museum we have a choice. Also depends on time left. We can go to the Astor Column http://www.oregoncoast.com/astorcol/ get some arial pics or we can cross the bridge and go to Longbeach. Ride the gokarts. I doubt we'll have time for both.
After Astoria we'll cross the bridge to washington, either go to the beach or head back to my place. Dinner that night will be standard bbq fare.
Monday morning you're all on your own.
I'll buy the pizza's and supply salmon if thats our saturday choice. If everyone will please bring your own beverages and the rest of the items that'll be great. Please leave a list of what you're bringing so we can get everything covered. You'll need money for the ferry $3, museum, trolley, and anytime we dine out. If you're short on funds, I'd suggest coming anyway. Just leave your car at my house and ride with someone on the cruise to save the gas $$
I made a seperate post to list food.

For entertainment here I have an xbox360, 830 movies on my server, darts, hot tub(bring swimsuits), and will be setting up a vintage gaming station with my old atari.
Sleeping arrangements:
Bring sleeping bags. Community sleeping in the back room and wherever else there's room. There are 2 other bedrooms, couples and women will get first choice of those.
There's also lots of space for tents in the yard. If it's raining then there will still be room for tents in the center section of the barn. It has a dirt floor so no problem with stakes. Just be careful with smoking please, theres' still old hay in there. |
